Janie Larson 2008 Teacher of the Year. Ridgefield, CT staff member of the Ridgefield Schools for 40 years, and the Director and Founder of Study­Works Educational Programs. She is a graduate of Framingham State College in Massachusetts, holds a master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Bridgeport in CT. and earned a Sixth Year degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern Connecticut State University. Ms. Larson is currently serving as an adjunct professor, University Supervisor for Student teachers in social studies, at Western Connecticut State University and Drexel University, and tutors private clients in elementary, middle and high school in CT and NY. A passionate educator ready to make a difference!

Creative Writing

Brian Cullagh’s curiosity for writing began at a young age, and continues to be an outlet to slow down his thinking and make sense of the unpredictability of an ever-changing world. He has taught middle school English in the Danbury public schools for 14 years. For the past eight summers, Brian has
worked at Western Connecticut State University teaching writing and research classes to Danbury middle and high school-aged students. Brian is returning for his second summer with Study-Works. We are thrilled to have him return. Currently, he lives in Southbury with his wife and daughter, Molly.

Math Enrichment: Cool Math Blast Off!

Nicole Silenok Certified Honors Geometry and STEM Mathematics teacher at the University High School of Science and Engineering (Top magnet school in America in 2012­ - 2013). She is a graduate from the University Of Hartford with cum laude honors. In addition, Nicole has work experience tutoring at the Hudson Learning Lab. We are thrilled to have Ms.Silenok return to us for her 4th summer to inspire and challenge our students in mathematics.
